In the
list of national days, 15th of August i.e. Independence Day holds a

Celebration
This
year i.e. 2018, India will mark its 72nd Independence Day Ceremony in
different parts of the country. The celebration will be led by the Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the national capital. A vibrant and colourful ceremony
will be held at Red Fort, New Delhi. On this day, a ritual started by the
country’s first Prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the National Flag of
India. In order to carry forward this tradition, on every Independence Day, the
Prime Minister hoist the tricolor National Flag, carried on with a speech.
The
celebration then marked by cultural events, songs and speeches highlighting the
sacrifices of the leaders of the country.

This day

offices to post offices and banks are closed on this day. People pay homage to
the freedom fighters. All the major government offices and buildings are illuminated
with strings of lights and the tricolour fluttersfrom homes and offices.

contest and programs to promote the day.
